Advisory mandate for monitoring the spatial and traffic impacts of the new Gotthard base route

Brugger + Partner supported the Federal Office for Spatial Development (ARE) in preparing to monitor the spatial and traffic impacts of the new Gotthard base route. The support included advising the client on planning the monitoring process, facilitating the inter-agency advisory group, and preparing the related WTO tender. Brugger + Partner also developed key foundations for the monitoring process. We created a trend scenario to outline the potential effects of the new Gotthard axis on spatial and traffic development in the Gotthard region, and we secured data that is critical for monitoring but difficult to obtain retroactively. The Gotthard base route is a once-in-a-lifetime project, and by preparing the monitoring process, Brugger + Partner made a valuable contribution to this significant evaluation.
