Is the federal government a CSR role model?

On behalf of the Federal Office for Spatial Development (ARE), bolz+partner and Brugger + Partner investigated whether the federal government lives up to its responsibility as a role model for CSR. The analysis focused on the federal government's roles as an employer, resource consumer, procurer (without detailed analysis), owner, and investor. Across twelve CSR dimensions, the report presented the current state and outlined 21 possible future actions. The report was based on document analysis, expert interviews, and workshops with an internal federal working group. For each CSR dimension, the federal government's current level of ambition and the quality of its management approaches were assessed. Insights from public administration and business, both in Switzerland and internationally, were included to evaluate the federal government's performance.
