Urban Management
Brugger + Partner teaches in the interdisciplinary CAS in Urban Management programme at the University of Zurich's Center for Urban & Real Estate Management (CUREM). This programme targets specialists and managers in regional and urban development as well as the real estate industry who seek to assume greater political and entrepreneurial responsibility. Students develop a deep understanding of the interactions between people and businesses within spatial contexts and learn to anticipate responses from voters, landowners, politicians, and administrators to spatial decisions. Political, economic, legal, and psychological aspects are examined in depth. Equipped with this knowledge, students can formulate development strategies, communicate effectively, mediate among interest groups, and apply or refine innovative management tools in a context-specific manner. Brugger + Partner delivers instruction in regional economics, where students explore the economic benefits and drawbacks of spatial proximity and understand the drivers behind the formation of agglomerations and cities. They learn to identify key factors influencing the growth or decline of regions and cities and to derive perspectives and development strategies accordingly.
