Flood resilience potential analysis

Brugger + Partner conducted a potential analysis for a leading Swiss insurance company on flood risk awareness. The analysis identified the needs of various stakeholder groups regarding flood risk education and highlighted groups where risk awareness could be improved. To address these questions, a combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods was employed: alongside the evaluation and synthesis of existing studies, a comprehensive questionnaire survey of property owners and a series of in-depth interviews with architects, engineers, and mortgage banks were conducted. The analysis identified specific requirements for risk communication, explored the potential for a web-based information and risk analysis tool, and outlined strategic thrusts for market development in German-speaking Switzerland.
