Company formations, succession planning, and start-ups in Swiss tourism

Together with the University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons in Chur, Brugger + Partner conducted a comprehensive analysis of the Swiss tourism industry, focusing on company formations, succession planning, and start-ups. The findings were incorporated into the Tourism Forum Switzerland 2018. The mandate comprised three components: 1) developing foundational knowledge on start-ups and succession planning within Swiss tourism; 2) supporting SECO in organising TFS 2018; 3) formulating recommendations to promote these topics. Start-ups and company formations are vital for Swiss tourism, since they foster innovation, enhance competitiveness, and drive structural transformation. Technology-based start-ups, such as Booking and Airbnb, are reshaping the industry through digital innovation, exerting pressure on established businesses. This project enabled Brugger + Partner to raise awareness within the industry about the critical need for digital transformation while empowering tourism stakeholders to proactively embrace change and navigate successfully into the future.
