Further development of the federal agglomeration policy
Brugger + Partner supported the Federal Office for Spatial Development (ARE) in advancing Switzerland's 2016+ Agglomeration Policy. On 20 April 2011, the Federal Council mandated ARE and the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs to propose a strategy by 2014 for the 2016-2019 legislative period, aiming to enhance sustainable development in Swiss agglomerations, cities, and municipalities. The policy complements sectoral initiatives, such as transport and social policies, with specific measures. Brugger + Partner supported the ARE by designing the process, facilitating workshops and meetings, and assisting in strategy formulation. The collaborative process involved various federal offices and representatives from cantons, cities, and municipalities.
